Fender Japan 1999 ST72-58US Stratocaster Olympic White

Up for grabs at the Japanese Guitar Company is a fantastic, highly resonant 1972 reissue Stratocaster in a classic Olympic White finish. Produced during the coveted turn-of-the-century production era, the ST72-58US model is a premium replica of the iconic CBS transition era, complete with factory-installed American-voiced single-coil pickups for authentic vintage bite.

The construction details perfectly recreate the period, featuring a select body paired with a maple neck sporting a bold large headstock, bullet truss rod adjustment nut, and the historical three-bolt neck plate with integrated micro-tilt adjustment. The neck is capped with a dark rosewood fingerboard, a vintage-accurate 7.25 inch radius, and 21 vintage frets. Under the hood, the factory US pickups deliver a beautifully articulate, glassy top-end snap balanced by a warm, clear mid-range woody punch that defines the classic late-60s and early-70s rock recordings.

The hardware is entirely original, showcasing a set of stable Gotoh cast tuning keys, classic black plastic pickup covers and control knobs, a three-ply white pickguard, and a vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge. Please note the original screw-in whammy bar is not present.

This guitar is in very good player's condition and has just completed a full technical overhaul in our workshop, including a complete detail cleaning, fresh strings, and a professional setup for smooth, low action. The high-gloss Olympic White finish has aged gracefully into a lovely cream patina, showing honest signs of use including standard surface scratches, light dings, and small cosmetic playwear marks that tell the story of its 25-year history. The original fret wire is in spectacular shape, rating an exceptional 9.7 out of 10 with virtually no visible wear or pitting.
