During this time he had perfected his craft and was building guitars mainly by himself. After the gold metal his popularity skyrocketed and he had a number of apprentice builders in his shop. This one has the highly coveted gold letter label as well, a truly special guitar from the greatest Japanese luthier of all time.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe guitar plays and sounds wonderful. The top is select solid spruce, the back and sides are solid rosewood. It sounds like you would expect a guitar that is pushing 60 years old, built by a master, and made from the best materials available should sound.
