Hand-built in Japan during the mid-nineties, this performance-tier instrument features a premium solid Sitka spruce top meticulously tuned with Matsuoka’s signature custom fan bracing system. The top is paired with beautifully grained East Indian rosewood back and sides to deliver an expansive sonic profile characterized by deep, cello-like lows, brilliant upper-register clarity, and remarkable note separation perfect for traditional concert repertoire or modern fingerstyle recording.

As a premium vintage instrument curated directly for our shop, this guitar remains in very nice player shape, earning a conservative seven-point-five out of ten overall condition rating. The body shows honest signs of age-appropriate use, including light finish swirls, minor fingernail marks on the soundboard, and shallow surface scratches across the rosewood back. There is a single, narrow hairline finish check located behind the bridge in line with the first string, which has been fully inspected under magnification in our workshop and confirmed to be strictly in the top clear coat and not structural. The original frets sit at a robust seven-point-five out of ten with plenty of material remaining, matching an immaculate action setup of three millimeters on the bass side and two-point-twenty-five millimeters on the treble side at the twelfth fret.

Purchasing this masterfully voiced classical guitar from our physical inventory means you bypass the classic headaches of international customs delays, unpredictable import tariff conversions, and risky transoceanic shipping. Our workshop has completely detailed the body woods, treated the rosewood bridge and fingerboard, polished the original gold tuners, and restrung the guitar to ensure an immediate, inspiring playing experience. The instrument comes safely housed inside an upgraded, ultra-durable SKB molded hardshell flight case with an included key.

Case: Hard, SKB with key.
