1974 Tama 3558 Acoustic MIJ Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought w/ Case

Made in Japan in 1974, this Tama 3558 is an impressive vintage dreadnought from the early years of Tama's acoustic production. Built during the golden era of Japanese guitar manufacturing, it features a solid spruce top paired with what appears to be Brazilian rosewood back and sides, producing a rich, balanced tone with excellent projection and plenty of low-end warmth.

This guitar has just been cleaned, restrung, and professionally set up, and it's ready to play.

Overall, it is in good condition. It shows normal cosmetic wear from over 50 years of use, including scratches, dings, and finish wear consistent with its age. There is a small finish blemish on the top near the pickguard (pictured), but no major structural concerns. It's just finish tan from an old sticker

The frets show a good amount of wear, but every note plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots. It remains a comfortable and enjoyable player.

The back displays striking, highly figured rosewood with dramatic grain patterns, complemented by tasteful herringbone center strip, multi-ply binding, abalone position markers, and an attractive rosewood headstock overlay. It is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship that made 1970s Japanese acoustics so desirable.
