2012 Fender Japan PB62 Precision Bass Old Candy Apple Red
2012 Fender Japan PB62 Precision Bass finished in Old Candy Apple Red with a rosewood fingerboard and white pearloid pickguard.
This is Fender Japan’s classic ’62-style Precision Bass, built around the traditional early-’60s P-Bass formula with a rosewood fingerboard, vintage-style bridge and hardware, and a single split-coil Precision Bass pickup.
Serial number JD12009453 dates the bass to 2012. The neck heel is clearly stamped PB62, while the body pocket carries a PB marking along with a later handwritten “2023 OCT” notation and what appears to be the name “Morita.” I believe the handwritten portion is simply a later service or inspection note rather than a production marking. The neck, body, serial and overall construction are all consistent with a 2012 Fender Japan PB62. An independently listed 2012 PB62 in the same finish has serial JD12009446 — only seven numbers away from this bass.

These later Fender Japan PB62 models are particularly nice players, with the traditional 7.25" radius and slimmer C-style neck profile Fender Japan was using on the series.
Overall condition is Very Good. The bass shows only light cosmetic wear from normal use, with no major damage visible. The metallic red finish still presents very nicely and the white pearloid pickguard gives it a great look.
The frets show very little wear and have been rated approximately 9.3/10 with plenty of life remaining.
A clean, well-preserved Japanese-made PB62 from the final years of the classic Fender Japan era.
