2023 Fender Japan Junior Collection Stratocaster Satin Surf Green

A beautiful 2023 Fender Made in Japan Junior Collection Stratocaster finished in Satin Surf Green with a rosewood fingerboard.

The Junior Collection is one of Fender Japan's more interesting modern designs. Rather than simply making a conventional Strat with a shorter neck, Fender scaled the body down to approximately 94% of standard size and paired it with a 24" scale length, resulting in a noticeably more compact and lightweight guitar while retaining the look, hardware layout and feel of a proper Stratocaster.

This example is serial number JD23021832, dating it to 2023 production. Fender's Japanese serial system uses the first two digits following the JD prefix to indicate the year of manufacture.

Factory specifications include a basswood body, maple Modern "C" neck, rosewood fingerboard, 9.5" radius, 22 narrow-tall frets and bone nut. The body has Fender's Satin Polyester finish, which gives the Surf Green a softer, less glossy appearance than a conventional high-gloss Strat.

Electronics consist of three Junior Collection Modified Single-Coil Stratocaster pickups with traditional master volume, two tone controls and 5-way switching. Hardware includes vintage-style tuners and a modern 2-point synchronized tremolo with vintage-style stamped steel saddles.

This guitar has just been cleaned, restrung and set up and is ready to play.

Overall, it is in excellent condition. There is almost no visible playwear anywhere on the guitar, and the frets likewise show virtually no wear. The Satin Surf Green body presents extremely cleanly, and the neck, fingerboard and hardware are all in excellent shape.
