2025 Fender Japan Limited Hybrid II Telecaster Noir Black

A very sharp 2025 Fender Made in Japan Limited Hybrid II Telecaster Noir, finished in Satin Black with the matching black headstock, red metallic Fender logo, and the distinctive black/red/black 3-ply pickguard.

This is the 2025 limited-production reissue of Fender Japan's Hybrid II Noir series, and Fender confirms the model as a 2025-only limited run. The serial number on this guitar is JD25018247, which is also consistent with 2025 production.

The Hybrid II platform combines traditional Telecaster styling with a number of modern upgrades. Factory specs include an alder body, satin-finished Modern "C" maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 9.5" radius, 22 narrow-tall frets, vintage-style locking tuners, and a 3-saddle string-through bridge with slanted brass barrel saddles.

The electronics are also a little more versatile than a traditional Telecaster. It uses a pair of Hybrid II Custom Voiced single-coil pickups with a 4-way selector:

• Bridge pickup
• Bridge + neck in parallel
• Neck pickup
• Bridge + neck in series

That fourth position gives the guitar a noticeably fuller, higher-output sound while still retaining the traditional Telecaster positions.

The Noir treatment is what really sets this one apart visually. In addition to the satin black body and matching headstock, Fender used black nickel hardware, a black synthetic-bone nut, red detailing in the pickguard, and the red metallic headstock logo. It is understated from a distance but has a lot of subtle detail once you get close.

This guitar has just been cleaned and set up and is ready to go. It plays very well with virtually no fret wear.

Overall, I would rate it in excellent condition. There is one small dent on the front of the body and some light pickguard scratching from normal use, but otherwise it presents extremely well. The satin finish is clean, the neck and fingerboard are in excellent shape, and the frets show essentially no meaningful wear.

A particularly cool modern Fender Japan limited edition, and one that is already difficult to find outside Japan. Between the blackout Noir aesthetic, subtle red accents, 4-way switching, locking tuners and modern neck specs, it is a much more interesting guitar than a standard production Telecaster.
