1995 Charvel SD-50 Made in Japan Trans Blue Burst HSS Electric Guitar

Made in Japan circa 1995, this Charvel SD-50 is a great example of Charvel’s Japanese-market performance guitars from the 1990s. It features a striking Trans Blue Burst finish over a highly figured gravure flame-maple top, a matching painted headstock, gold hardware, an HSS pickup configuration, and a double-locking tremolo system.

The SD-50 model identification is confirmed by matching factory stamps found in both the neck pocket and on the neck heel. The neck pocket is stamped “SD-50 / 2-4,” while the neck heel is marked “2/4 SD-50.” The neck plate carries serial number 503197.

This guitar was recently cleaned, restrung, and professionally set up with low action. It plays smoothly and comfortably throughout the neck. The electronics function properly, and the HSS pickup configuration provides plenty of versatility, ranging from clear single-coil tones to a fuller and more powerful bridge humbucker sound.

Cosmetically, the guitar is in excellent condition for its age. There are only minor dings, light scratches, and normal signs of handling. The blue burst finish remains vibrant, the figured appearance of the top displays beautifully, and the gold hardware is in good overall condition with some normal age-related wear and patina. The frets show very little wear and have plenty of life remaining.

A beautiful and increasingly difficult-to-find Japanese Charvel with classic 1990s styling, 24-fret playability, matching headstock, gold hardware, and a particularly striking Trans Blue Burst finish.
