Fender Japan 1993 PB70-95SR Foto Flame Precision Bass Lyte Custom

This vintage instrument presents a visually arresting profile with its Crimson Burst Foto Flame body paired beautifully with a matching painted headstock and a complete suite of original gold hardware. Manufactured during the highly regarded mid-1990s production window, this premium Lyte Custom variant offers a sleek, downsized ergonomic body shape designed for hours of effortless stage comfort. The instrument pairs a fast-playing maple neck with a rich, dark rosewood fingerboard outfitted with traditional white dot position markers.

The sonic engine is a highly versatile active P/J electronic configuration, utilizing a punchy split-coil Precision pickup in the middle position and a biting single-coil Jazz pickup at the bridge. Governed by independent volume, pickup pan, and a dedicated active two-band equalizer circuit, this bass allows players to dial in everything from vintage Motown thud to bright contemporary slap textures with absolute clarity. The high-mass gold bridge assembly and gold tuners ensure supreme vibrational transfer and rock-solid pitch retention.

Reflecting its authentic playing history and vintage status, the guitar exhibits prominent cosmetic checking lines typical of early vacuum-sealed film finishes, with visible lacquer cracks running across the front body contours and some light chipping on the upper horn scoop. These anomalies are entirely cosmetic and confined to the outer finish layers, leaving the core wood underneath structurally solid, stable, and ready for regular play. The frets remain in excellent condition with almost zero visible wear, and the bass has been fully deep-cleaned, restrung, and calibrated in-house. It comes safely housed in a vintage molded hardshell travel case.
