Fender Japan TL62B-75TX Telecaster Custom Cherry Bound Body
For sale is a Fender Japan TL62B-75TX Telecaster Custom finished in the relatively uncommon Cherry translucent red with cream body binding.
This is Fender Japan's take on the early-'60s bound-body Telecaster design, featuring a double-bound body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, vintage-style hardware and traditional Telecaster electronics. The TL62 series uses a 7.25" fingerboard radius, 21 vintage-style frets and a 25.5" scale length.
Features USA Texas Special Pickups!
The body is factory stamped TL62B-75, confirming the model, along with the internal DK-340 production marking. Other documented TL62B examples carry the same DK-340 stamp, so this is consistent with Fender Japan factory construction rather than an aftermarket marking.
This example is finished in Cherry, a translucent red that allows the grain of the body to show through underneath. Cherry TL62B models are considerably less common than the more frequently encountered sunburst and black examples. Fender Japan also catalogued Cherry-finished TL62B variants during this era.
The guitar is in Very Good overall condition. There are some chips in the finish, along with minor scratches and other normal cosmetic wear from use. The most noticeable finish chip is shown clearly in the photos.
Fret wear is very minimal, with plenty of life remaining.
