Gaban FD-5 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar MIJ Japan w/ Hard Case

For sale is a vintage Gaban FD-5 dreadnought acoustic guitar, freshly cleaned, restrung, and professionally set up with comfortable low action.

Built during the golden era of Japanese guitar production, the FD-5 is a well-made vintage dreadnought featuring a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, and attractive vintage styling throughout. The guitar offers a warm, balanced voice with strong projection and the mature tonal character that players often seek from older Japanese acoustics.

This example is in very good overall condition for its age. It shows normal cosmetic wear including a few light scratches and marks from decades of use, but remains a clean and attractive instrument overall. The rosewood grain on the back and sides is particularly striking, and the guitar presents very well.

For transparency, there is a very slight lift visible at the center of the bridge. Both wings of the bridge remain firmly attached and stable, and the guitar currently plays well with low action. I believe the bridge is structurally sound as-is, but I always prefer to disclose details like this so buyers know exactly what they're getting.

The guitar has just been cleaned, restrung, and set up, and is ready for its next owner.
