1973 Morris W-40 Vintage Japanese Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar w/ Hard Case

Up for sale is a beautiful 1973 Morris W-40 dreadnought acoustic guitar, made in Japan by the Terada Musical Instrument Company during the highly regarded early era of Japanese acoustic-guitar production.

The W-40 was a relatively upscale model in the Morris lineup, featuring a natural spruce top, richly figured rosewood back and sides, decorative multi-ply body binding, diamond-style fretboard inlays, and an especially striking three-piece back with a figured maple center wedge. The rosewood headstock face, vintage Morris branding, and original-style Grover tuners complete the classic appearance.

This guitar has just been cleaned, restrung, and set up and is ready to play. It has a full, resonant dreadnought voice with plenty of projection and the warm, mature character expected from a Japanese acoustic that is now more than 50 years old.

Overall, the guitar is in very good condition for its age. It shows normal cosmetic wear from use and handling, including scattered light scratches, small marks, and a more noticeable finish ding on the side of the body, as shown in the photos. There is some minor fret wear, but nothing excessive or currently affecting playability.

The interior label identifies it as a Morris W-40 manufactured in 1973 and inspected by Terada. The guitar appears to retain its original Grover tuning machines.

A hard case is included. The case shows normal exterior wear but remains functional.
