Suzuki Taishogoto Nagoya Harp Acoustic String Instrument w/ Original Case Japan
Up for sale is a Suzuki Taishogoto (also known as a Nagoya Harp) made in Japan.
The Taishogoto is a unique Japanese stringed instrument that combines elements of a traditional zither with a typewriter-style key mechanism. Players press the numbered keys while plucking the strings to change pitch, creating the distinctive sound that has made these instruments popular in Japan for generations.
This example was manufactured by Suzuki Musical Instrument Mfg. Co. and features a handsome reddish-brown finish, dual rows of numbered keys, chrome hardware, and its original carrying case. Unlike some later amplified versions, this is an acoustic model that produces sound naturally through the instrument's resonating body.
We recently cleaned the instrument and verified basic functionality. The keys operate smoothly and the instrument responds as intended when played.
Condition is very good overall. It shows normal cosmetic wear from age and use including light scratches, minor finish wear, and some dust accumulation in harder-to-reach areas. The original carrying case is included and remains functional with expected signs of age and use.
Please review all photos carefully for a complete representation of the instrument's condition.
