Up for sale is a Japanese-made electric Taishogoto, also known as a Nagoya Harp.

Unlike many traditional acoustic examples, this instrument is equipped with a built-in pickup system and onboard volume control, allowing it to be connected to an amplifier or recording setup. It features a natural wood finish, dual-row key layout, decorative metal tailpiece, and includes its original hard case.

We recently cleaned the instrument and verified basic functionality. The key mechanism operates smoothly and the volume control turns freely. The instrument produces sound acoustically and appears complete overall.

Condition is very good for its age. It shows normal cosmetic wear including light scratches, finish wear, and signs of regular use. There are handwritten markings on the back from a previous owner that appear to document dates of ownership or service history. The original hard case is included and remains functional with typical storage and handling wear. Please review all photos carefully for a complete representation of condition.

The instrument bears the marking 琴伝流 (Kotodenryu), one of Japan's best-known taishogoto performance and teaching organizations. Many instruments of this type were sold through Kotodenryu-affiliated clubs and schools, making exact manufacturer identification difficult despite the instrument's clear Japanese origin.

Previous ownership markings remain on the back of the instrument, including handwritten dates corresponding to January 20, 1996 and September 11, 2010, along with what appears to be the surname Kinoshita (木下). These markings provide an interesting glimpse into the instrument's history and long-term use in Japan.

This example is equipped with a built-in pickup and onboard volume control. Please note that the output uses a smaller mini-jack rather than a standard 1/4" guitar cable, so an adapter or appropriate cable will be needed for use with a standard amplifier.
