Vintage 1970s Made in Japan Bass Guitar Redburst w/ Dual Pickups & Original Electronics

Cool vintage MIJ bass with a lot of mojo and a very vibey late-60s / early-70s aesthetic. Freshly cleaned, restrung, and set up here in the shop. It plays nicely overall with comfortable, reasonable action.

The bass appears to retain its original pickups and electronics, including the unique dual slider controls and chrome-covered pickups. Really cool tortoise guard and redburst finish combination that gives it a very Teisco / Guyatone / early Yamaha-era Japanese look.

Condition is good for its age with normal cosmetic wear throughout:

• Scratches, dings, and finish wear from use
• Some oxidation/patina on hardware
• Small chips and edge wear around the body
• G string has noticeable first fret buzz open and at the first fret area. The note still rings and does not fret out, but the buzz is present. Beyond that, the neck plays well up the board.

A fun vintage Japanese bass with tons of character that would work great for garage rock, indie, punk, recording, or anyone into quirky MIJ instruments.
