Yamaki YW-30 12-String Acoustic Guitar w/ Hard Case - Made in Japan

The YW-30 is one of the more desirable vintage 12-strings to come out of Japan during the golden era of acoustic production. Built in Japan in 1981, this model follows the classic square-shouldered dreadnought formula and features attractive rosewood back and sides paired with a spruce top. The abalone-style trim, slotted bridge, and overall fit and finish give it a noticeably more upscale feel than many of the entry-level 12-strings from the period.

This example has recently been cleaned, restrung, and set up here at the shop. As expected from a well-built Japanese 12-string, it produces a full, rich voice with plenty of shimmer and natural chorus. Chords ring beautifully and the guitar has the big, expansive sound players typically look for in a vintage 12-string.

Condition is very good overall for its age. There are scattered signs of normal use throughout including light scratches, dings, and cosmetic wear, but nothing that detracts from the guitar's appearance or functionality.

The truss rod is currently tightened fully and there is still some remaining neck relief present. That said, the guitar remains quite playable in its current setup. There is still a healthy amount of saddle showing above the bridge, so a future owner could lower the action further by reducing saddle height if desired. We have included current action measurements below so buyers can evaluate the setup for themselves.
