2022 Fender Japan JV Modified '50s Stratocaster HSS 2-Color Sunburst
Made in Japan Fender JV Modified ’50s Stratocaster HSS finished in 2-Color Sunburst. This is part of Fender’s modern JV Modified Series, which takes inspiration from the highly regarded early-’80s Japanese Vintage instruments while adding a few more player-friendly features.
This example is in excellent condition with barely any signs of play wear. The frets show virtually no wear at all, and the guitar has been set up and is ready to play.
The ’50s influence is especially noticeable in the substantial Thick Soft “V” maple neck, paired with a 9.5" radius maple fingerboard and 21 medium-jumbo frets. Fender equipped these with a factory HSS pickup configuration consisting of two vintage-style Strat single coils and a Hot Vintage Alnico bridge humbucker. The second tone control is a factory push/pull pot that splits the bridge humbucker for additional single-coil tones.
Other factory features include a basswood body, bone nut, vintage-style locking tuners and six-screw vintage-style synchronized tremolo. The internal neck and body markings are consistent with the ’50s Strat configuration, and the under-pickguard electronics and pickups appear consistent with the original factory setup.
Serial Number: JV005626
A really clean example of one of Fender Japan’s more interesting modern Stratocaster models. The modern JV series can be confusing at first glance because Fender reused the famous JV prefix, but this is a modern Japanese-built instrument rather than an original 1982–84 JV.
