Vintage Suzuki Sakyu Soprano Electric Taishogoto Japanese Harp 1980s

This vintage Suzuki Sakyu Soprano Electric Taishogoto offers a fascinating bridge between traditional Japanese melody and modern amplified performance. Known colloquially as the Nagoya harp, this unique five-string instrument features a typewriter-style key mechanism over a resonant wooden body. Crafted in Japan by Suzuki, the Sakyu soprano model delivers a bright, shimmering acoustic voice that easily transitions to an ethereal, ambient soundscape when plugged into a standard guitar amplifier.

As a premium vintage import, this piece shows minor cosmetic surface wear, light finish marks, and natural aging on the hardware consistent with its history. These superficial elements do not impact the structural integrity of the instrument. The key mechanism moves smoothly across the entire range, and the internal pickup is fully verified, clean, and ready for studio tracking or live experimentation.

Having this instrument physically located here at our storefront means it has bypasse international customs delays, unexpected import tariffs, and risky overseas transit. Our workshop has completely inspected the electronics, cleaned the key contacts, and ensured it is fully setup for immediate play right out of its included protective hard shell case.
